- Emergency numbers. Make a list of all of the emergency numbers available so that you can have instant access to them. This should include police, ambulance, and fire authorities as well as the poison hotline. Post these on your refrigerator or near a phone. Make sure that children know how to get in contact with their parents at all times of the day.
Your home safety plan should also include the tools that you need to survive. You should have a kit that is full of medical supplies, bottled water, batteries and any medications that you need to take on an ongoing basis.
